Overview

PTW was contracted by a leading engineering house to design and manufacture modular buildings, including all electrical equipment, in accordance with IEC standards. PTW’s e-houses were designed and built to accommodate the harsh weather conditions in Iceland where winds can exceed 140 kilometers per hour. This specific smelter marked the first new primary aluminum facility for the client in over 20 years. PTW’s contract included:

• Designing and manufacturing 19 modular e-houses
• Electrical equipment design and fabrication
• Installation and commissioning
• Field support
• Factory testing and Conformity European (CE) Certification
