PTW’s Redwater Branch Supports Major Turnaround Project for Leading Midstream Operator
A leading midstream oil and gas company is currently undertaking a shutdown and turnaround project at their plant, necessitating specialized electrical installation and instrumentation services. PTW emerged as a crucial partner in this intricate endeavor, delivering comprehensive support for a DCS/SIS control systems upgrade alongside a 5KV system replacement.
Our dedicated team efficiently managed the supply and installation of all electrical equipment, hardware, and cabling, employing over 70 highly skilled tradespeople at the site. PTW managed several work fronts at the same time, ensuring the technical work was done correctly and the workforce could scale as needed to complete the project successfully.
In the face of a regional craft labour shortage driven by increased project activity, PTW successfully staffed the outage while maintaining support for various other major industrial and energy initiatives. This proven ability to scale effectively underscores PTW’s reputation as a trusted partner for large-scale electrical and instrumentation (E&I) projects.
Through advanced planning and innovative pre-outage strategies, we accomplished a significant number of tasks ahead of schedule, significantly reducing plant downtime and facilitating a smooth execution phase despite the compressed timeline. The outage, which commenced in late May and is projected to conclude by June 22, 2025, received praise from the client, who labelled it as “the most well-planned execution they have seen to date.”
