Concentrated Solar Thermal Project

Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada

Overview

PTW was contracted by The City of Medicine Hat to perform work on their Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Plant Project. This project is a part of a larger environmental initiative called the HAT Smart Program which seeks to prepare Medicine Hat residents for a fossil fuel constrained world by assisting in energy conservation and renewable energy initiatives.
The client required a Certificate of Recognition (COR) certified provider to meet their stringent health and safety guidelines – PTW’s proven safety program, with extensive policies and procedures, helped us stand out among our competitors.
We performed the electrical and instrumentation installation of two Motor Control Centre (MCC) buildings, including switchgear, and two programmable logic controller (PLC) panels which would control heat to the processing fluids of gas turbines that provide electricity.
